POEMS - 2011 - Leaders and Doughnuts

Column

LEADERS

People cry for leaders,

But they know not what they ask,

They eat from the same trough,

And drink from the same cask.

They vote for representatives,

Who are not up for the task,

They want leaders who are puppets,

With strings and a mask.

DOUGHNUT HOLES

Leaders are like doughnut holes,

Cut from the same dough,

Dusted with the same sprinkles,

And filled with the same woe.

Before you can say “Sugar”,

And the clerk yells “Sell”,

Nations are noticing,

That they ‘doughnut’ feel so well.

I Samuel 10:19 (KJV)

And ye have this day rejected your God, who Himself saved you out of all your adversities and your tribulations; and ye have said unto Him, Nay, but set a king over us ...
