POEMS - 2019 - Hey Little Kestrel

HEY LITTLE KESTREL

Hey little kestrel,

Taking a nap,

Will you be here,

When I come back?

Your dusty orange wings,

And fluffy chest,

Are perfect cover,

For taking a rest.

Your spotted feathers,

Ruffle in the breeze,

I’d love to pick you up,

The thought … a tease.

You look so soft,

But that cheeky grin,

And talons long,

Make me think again.

Maybe some day,

Or in a dream,

We’ll fly together,

And be a team.

Isaiah 31:3 (KJV)

As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also He will deliver it; and passing over He will preserve it.
